‘The Tiny House of Slow Town’, one of the ‘Slow Town’ projects of The Plus Partners, maximizes the use of wood as their primary building material. They try to reduce inadequate living quarters and provide an easy access to the geographical beauty of Gangwon City, the host of the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympic Winter Games. This City has been protected for years as it is well-known to be one of the remaining cleanest areas in South Korea. It does not only preserve the cultural heritage of the place, but it also promotes the advancement of architectural influence. The use of wood has been effective in this type of housing project because its elegance is highly well carried off. And also, its natural color dominates, which eventually adds charm to this residential space since there is no need for further alteration.
The main purpose of the project is to bring forth premium housing facilities for accommodations which introduce environmentally friendly materials. The simple yet appealing theme is noticeable in the house’s interior. The ceiling has a triangular shape, making the bedroom to somehow spare a little private excitement. The staircase is also captivating because of its boxy type structure which can also be used as mini storages. Although there is a whole new modernistic touch in the placement of fixtures, its overall classical value is still achieved.
